About
Hello, I'm Susie
I'm a person-centred counsellor based in the North East, working with adults, young people and families.
I'm a friendly, down-to-earth Northern woman. I take my work seriously, but I don't believe counselling needs to feel intimidating or overly formal. I want you to feel like you're talking to a real person who genuinely cares, rather than someone sitting behind a professional title.
I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, respected and accepted for who they are. Everyone has their own story, and I'm here to listen to yours.
[A few more lines from Susie: why she became a counsellor, and anything she'd like people to know about her. Round 2.]
Why Lotus North?
The name means a lot to me. The lotus flower grows up through mud and still flowers. To me it stands for resilience, healing and growth, and the ability to flourish even through difficult times.
The North is home. I'm incredibly proud to be from the North East, and I bring that warmth, honesty and down-to-earth way of being into every session.
How I work
My approach is person-centred. That means you lead, and I listen. I won't tell you what to do or try to fit you into a box. Instead, I'll offer a calm, non-judgemental space where you can explore what's going on, at your own pace.
You're in control of what we talk about, and when.
